Mercury and Venus transit Ardra Nakshatra

Venus and Mercury are in Ardra nakshatra, within the sign of Gemini. A nakshatra is a lunar house, and every sign contains two and one half such houses, it represents the distant the Moon moves in twenty-four hours. Rudra, a form of Shiva, rules this nakshatra. His name means “the howler” and he is a wrathful form of the destroyer God. Directly opposite Ardra, in Sagittarius, is Mula. Mula is ruled by Nirriti, Goddess of disaster, a form of Kali. Within Mula is the galactic center and Mula means “root”. The galactic center is the root out of which creation grows and the destruction that it is pulled back towards. It can also have the implication of pulling something out by the root and eradicating something negative in life.

The destroying aspects of the divine have positive attributes as they make change, transformation, and growth possible. However, they are also the source of death and destruction. The black empty space after the destruction of the universe is the body of the Goddess Kali, but this is also the pure potential out of which the universe is reborn.

So, transits through Ardra are often very intense and times when major disasters happen. As Venus and Mercury are currently transiting this nakshatra, this will apply to relationships, communication, and injuries or accidents during travel. On Saturday the 22nd there will be a full moon in Sagittarius and as its ruler, Jupiter is in Taurus ruled by Venus. As Venus is transiting Ardra this will transmit some of this destructive intensity through Jupiter into the sign of Sagittarius. This indicates extreme mental and emotional strain and transits through Ardra are often correlated with suicides. The good news is all these planets are moving fast and this intensity will not last more than a week.

To understand how these transits affect you an individual analysis is required. The interaction between your natal chart and the transits of the planets is always very individual and personal. Contact me for a reading at .
